International Trucking and PlusAI are leveraging Nvidia’s DRIVE AGX Hyperion platform to further advance the commercialization of factory-prefabricated Level 4 autonomous trucks.
This collaboration brings together International Trucking’s nearly 200 years of manufacturing experience, PlusAI’s SuperDrive autonomous driving technology, and Nvidia’s high-performance AI computing capabilities. The partnership aims to accelerate the manufacturing of autonomous vehicles designed for safe and efficient long-haul freight.
“Through our collaboration with International Trucking and Nvidia, we are enabling scalable, factory-prefabricated autonomous driving technology to meet fleet expectations for performance and safety in real-world applications,” said David Liu, CEO and co-founder of PlusAI, in a press release. “Preparing for a future with thousands of autonomous trucks on the road requires not only cutting-edge, AI-native autonomous driving technology but also a relentless pursuit of excellence in safety, reliability, and large-scale manufacturing.”

In addition to International’s manufacturing expertise, the OEM will also utilize its North American dealer network to provide repair and maintenance services for the trucks. Meanwhile, Nvidia will provide the DRIVE AGX Thor computing platform, based on the Nvidia Blackwell architecture, to handle the complex AI workloads required for safe autonomous driving.
“Based on our fleet trials in Texas, this collaboration with NVIDIA and PlusAI is a significant step towards mass production,” said Tobias Glitterstam, Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer at International. “By combining automotive-grade computing and native AI autonomous driving software with our deep customer relationships and insights, we are supporting the deployment of future autonomous driving solutions that will bring real value and reliability to the freight industry.”
Rishi Dahl, Vice President of Nvidia Automotive, added, “By leveraging DRIVE AGX Thor, PlusAI’s advanced autonomous driving software, and International’s proven vehicle platform, we can seamlessly collaborate to achieve powerful perception, prediction, and planning capabilities, ensuring safe, efficient, and scalable commercial freight operations.”
These trucks will be equipped with LiDAR, radar, and cameras at the factory, providing 360-degree all-around environmental perception, and will integrate the SuperDrive autonomous driving system and Nvidia’s system-on-a-chip for high-speed AI inference.
