April 11, 2016. The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announces the availability of $55 million of Fiscal Year 2016 funds for the purchase or lease of low or no emission vehicles as well as related equipment or facilities under the Low or No Emissions (Low-No) Program. Proposals must be submitted electronically through Grants.gov website by midnight Eastern Time on May 13, 2016.
The main purpose of the Low-No Program is to support the transition of the nation’s transit fleet to the lowest polluting and most energy efficient transit vehicles. It provides funding to State and local governmental authorities for the purchase or lease of zero-emission and low-emission transit buses, including acquisition, construction, and leasing of required supporting facilities.
An eligible applicant is a direct recipient of FTA grants under the Section 5307 Urbanized Area Formula program, States and Indian Tribes.
A joint webinar for both bus discretionary opportunities will be held April 14, 2016 from 2-3:30 p.m. EDT.
